Tenderloin Bowl XXVIII
Eddies enfilade
Killer Bees, 43-10

BUFFALO, NY - The curse of pennant winners in Tenderloin Bowls continued as the pin stuck into a voodoo doll once again hit its mark to thwart the Killer Bees' bid to become a BSFL first year champion. The most potent penetration for the Eddies materialized as game MVP Carson Wentz completed four scoreboard blinkers among 291 yards before taking a blow to the knee that finished his season. Seashrein wide receivers were impressive with all three palming passes for treys among 117 yards by Michael Thomas, 105 by Adam Thielen, and 78 by Doug Baldwin. Melvin Gordon packed the bladder for 78 yards including once into the endzone to pace the Eddies' ground attack. The No Haskel Defense did its share of noggin' knocking with Brandon Graham's scoop and score as well as Bruce Irvin's pair of sacks squishing Lodi's title hopes. The Eddies outgained the Killer Bees in total offense, 782 yards to 614.

Lodi saved arguably its worst game of the season for the most meaningful. The lone obvious exception was DeAndre Hopkins who sticky fingered air biscuits for 149 yards with a pair of post toasters. Old dependable Tom Brady didn't do diddly with two chucks swiped among just 233 yards and only one zone zinger.

Porterhouse Bowl XXVIII
Bashers blitz
Casualties, 43-31

MOOSE JAW, SASK. – It was mighty cool in Moose Jaw, but the Bashers were red hot while racking-up 905 yards of total offense compared to 660 for the Casualties. Game MVP Ben Roethlisberger was sizzling while connecting for 506 yards including two to tango. 'Big Ben' was only four yards shy of Eli Manning's BSFL game passing record set in 2012. The Spaethcadets romped on the ground, too, by slipping the skin to Todd Gurley on two trips to paydirt among 96 yards, and to Devonta Freeman for 91 including a tater tote TD.

It wasn't that Fifth Street was bad...the Casualties just weren't good enough. Case in point, Russell Wilson's trio to the promised land among tosses for 271 yards combined with keepers for 50 weren't so bad...but the three misfires to wrong colored jerseys was terrible. Jamaal Williams' touchdowns both rushing and receiving among carries for 49 yards and grabs for 69 was the best that Fifth Street could produce. Julio Jones caught aerials for 98, but none made it to the funzone.

Sirloin Bowl XXVII
Marauders mangle
Wolves, 38-25

MULE SHOE, TX – The Marauders set out to trample the Wolfpack as game MVP Jordan Howard cashed a pair of paychecks among zig-zags for 147 yards, and Alex Collins dodged for 120 including a plane penetration. Not to be outdone, Antonio Brown put on a BSFL MVP-like show by hauling-in flying pigskins for 213 yards. Manhart outgained Ardenvoir, 858-528, in total yardage.

Blake Bortles turned in a second solid performance in a row for the Wolves by hitting a pair to the house among 268 yards. Another late season Ardenvoir pickup, Josh Gordon, made a dent by latching-on to a trey along with receptions for 69 yards.

Chuck Bowl XXV
Elites entrap
Chiggers, 29-18

CHIHUAHUA, MEX. – In a rematch of last year's Tenderloin Bowl, this time down in the 'cheap seats' of BSFL bowls, the outcome remained the same with the Elites once again prevailing. Game MVP honors went to LeSean McCoy who advanced once to the ATM among turd totes for 156 yards. Devin Funchess caught zingers for 59 including once to the zone, and Jake Elliott booted 13 points 'tween the tines to pace a rather modest total offensive effort that still managed to outdistance Chatham by 538 yards to 407.

The Chiggers continued their playoff downward spiral. About all Chatham had going was Golden Tate's pass palms for 85 yards including a toaster, and Jarvis Landry's pair of celebration catches among a not good enough 46 yards. Jimmy Graham's inability to hang on to a single air ball while laying a goose egg certainly didn't help especially considering the Chigger bighead had options that would have changed the outcome.

Hamburger Bowl XXVIII
Equis eliminate
Sylvesters, 38-12,
to sweep Hamburger
Series, 74-36

HUMPTULIPS, WA – This rematch of last year's Hamburger combatants came out the same with Dryden sweeping the two game series. Le'Veon Bell made a big difference for the Equis by lugging the loaf twice over the goal line, and blinking the scoreboard again on a strike among 77 yards, to earn game MVP honors. Harrison Butker's 14 points through the uprights and Dez Bryant's biscuit snatches for 73 yards including a housecall, were also important. The Most Interesting Defense stepped up as Marshon Lattimore picked off a pass, and T.J. Watt had a strip sack. The Equis held a 563-331 advantage in total yardage.

Keenan Allen came to play for Haglund with 111 yards receiving, as did Robbie Gould who booted 14 points over the crossbar. The rest of the Poody 'Tats more or less coughed-up hair balls.
