Elites escape Casualties, 30-27

EASTMONT - You can count on one hand the number of times in BSFL history that a team with a booter who is blanked comes away with a dubya. The Elites dodged those incredible odds when Greg Zuerlein pulled a groin in pregame warmups and so kicked a dreaded goose egg that had to be overcome. Then, onto the field trotted Ben Roethlisberger who chucked 452 yards worth of strikes, including a trio to the zone, and added a sixpack on a keeper to make Elites' bigheads exclaim, "Kicker...we don't need no stinkin' kicker!" T.Y. Hilton was on the receiving end for a housecall along with 83 yards worth of grabs as Eastmont outgained Fifth Street in total offense, 761 yards to 723.

The Casualties' Robbie Gould, on the other hand, was the BSFL's most productive booter by sending a dozen points 'tween the tines. DeSean Watson passed for 310 yards, including two to tango, and Brandin Cooks hauled in 159 yards worth of the aerials. Geno Atkins smooshed the passer twice to get things to within six into Monday primetime as Fifth Street had Eastmont at their mercy totally defenseless against Khalil Mack's devastating onslaught with but a porous offensive line in his way. Mack couldn't quite get the job done, though, only getting a sack and forcing a coughup.

Chiggers conk
Nunya, 36-25

EPHRATA – In their first ever BSFL game, the Nunya were forced to sit through a 'Gurley' show featuring five packs to paydirt - 3 touchdowns and 2 conversions - by, of course, Todd Gurley in the flesh despite finishing with only 42 yards on the ground. Adding to the Chiggers' firepower were JuJu Smith-Schuster who palmed air biscuits for 121 yards including a scoreboard blinker, and Emmanuel Sanders's catches for 93. Chatham topped Ephrata in total offense 634 yards to 588.

The Nunya stayed in the game as DeAndre Hopkins plucked 110 yards worth of flying pigsnouts along with a post toaster, and Zac Ertz added grabs for 94 more. A pair of pancakes by Cameron Jordan and another by Demarcus Lawrence dragged the Chiggers back some.

Bashers bloody Marauders, 43-22

MANHART – Both teams were still bumping and grinding under Monday night lights, but by then the outcome was pretty well cemented with the Bashers holding a comfortable 23 point advantage. Utilizing two players to one for Spaeth, Manhart tiptoed closer by a couple of points as Russell Wilson connected on a pair of scoring strikes among 226 yards, but Jordan Howard didn't contribute much with 35 rushing and 33 receiving. The Bashers, meanwhile, counted Allen Robinson's 83 yards of sticky fingered air balls.

The Spaethcadets had things pretty well salted away as Philip Rivers tossed a trio of touchdown passes among 256 yards with three zone zingers completed to A.J. Green who went down the field for 69 yards. More went the Bashers way as Tyreek Hill latched onto a trey among 90 yards. Melvin Ingram chipped in a passer plant and a half. Spaeth finished with 629 total yards compared to 516 for Manhart.

The Marauders were led by Ezekiel Elliott's loaf lugs for 78 yards including once over the goal line. Mike Evans was on the receiving end of a counter among 83 yards worth of pass handles for Manhart.

Hoppers hang Eddies, 49-35

SEASHREIN – The Grasshoppers (formerly Saltamontes) made a statement in their return to BSFL play after a several year absense. Generally, 28 yards rushing and 38 receiving isn't worthy of mention, but in this case, Melvin Gordon's production included a pair of endzone lollipop catches, as well as a penetration of the invisible plane on the ground. Cam Newton launched missiles for 335 yards including three to the house, Travis Kelce caught two keepers among 109 yards, and Adam Thielen held on to tossed turds for 131 including one to lalaland. Genesee paced the BSFL with 868 yards in total offense, 101 more than Seashrein.

The defending champion Eddies 'hung in' as Jared Goff cranked out 354 yards through the air, but only hit one to the post. Seashrein's top receiver was running back Christian McCaffrey who grabbed 102 yards worth from the sky. Michael Thomas celebrated with a pair to the promised land among snatches for 89.
