A three sport standout, Elvin "Al" was named to the "All-Western Conference" grid team in 1963 as an end. That year, Al intercepted 14 passes to establish new NCAA and UW records. He also set NCAA and school standards with four interceptions in one game, an average of 1.4 interceptions per game, and 18 career interceptions.
