Jack Scaman
CLASS of 1925 Football, Basketball and Track ATHLETE
Jack was a "solid block of granite" weighing 170 pounds as a football player for Wenatchee High. During three seasons as a 'burly' starting guard on both sides of the ball, he seldom came off the field and, as the Wenatchee Daily World characterized his contributions to the Panthers "Stonewall" defensive line, "Especially Scaman, who can always be relied upon to stop the opposition cold if he gets within range."

During winter months he put impressive strength and agility to use as a proficient rebounder for the Panthers basketball team. Jack also won a district shot put title as a member of the track squad and ultimately earned a total of six letters.

He continued to compete for "the Purple and Gold" collegiately at the University of Washington, starting and lettering for the 1929 and 1930 Huskies football team.
