Frank Cammack SKI RACING
UNIVERSITY OF IDAHO ATHLETIC HALL OF FAME
After three dominating years as a skier for Wenatchee High School, Frank Cammack was a top skier for the Idaho team as a versatile competitor from 1955 to 1957. Cammack helped the Vandals win three consecutive Northwest Intercollegiate Ski Championship team titles as a Nordic combined skier. In 1956, he was instrumental in leading the Vandal men to a fifth place finish at the NCAA Championships and also qualified for the NCAA Championships the next year as a senior. Later in 1957, Frank competed in the National Championships and won the U.S. title in Nordic combined to earn a berth on the United States team at the World Championships in Finland. After graduation, he went on to coach ski racing at Mt. Bachelor and helped in the development of several Olympic and world class alpine ski racers.
