Frank Velazquez Wrestling |
| When Frank Velazquez graduated from Chelan High School in 1989, he had achieved more than any previous wrestler for the Goats while winning three consecutive Washington State 'A' titles in three different weight classes - 135-lbs as a senior, 129-lbs as a junior, and 122-lbs as a sophomore. In addition, he placed second at 122-lbs as a freshman.
Frank won back-to-back National Junior College Athletic Association Championships as a 134-lb. wrestler for North Idaho Community College. He went on to win consecutive Big 8 Conference 134-lb. titles as a grappler at the University of Nebraska. Ranked 9th nationally as a junior, he placed 7th at the NCAA Championships. As a senior, Frank entered the national championships ranked 3rd in the country, but didn't place. He was named North Central Washington College Male Athlete of the Year in both 1993 and 1994.
